Modified 2013 Toyota Avalons and 2013 Lexus LS F Sport Debuting at SEMA Show Toyota has managed to lower the average age of Camry buyers by almost 10 years (from mid-50s to mid-40s) thanks in part to the popular SE model, so why not attempt to do the same with the upcoming 2013 Avalon? Toyota hasn’t confirmed a sportier version of its new flagship sedan, but perhaps the modified Avalons headed to the SEMA show could serve as inspiration. Not to be outdone, Lexus is showing off a Project LS F Sport by the folks at Five Axis.

2013 Avalon TRD Edition and SEMA Avalon HV Edition
First up is a 2013 Avalon that comes from the automaker’s in-house tuner, Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Superchargers have become synonymous with TRD so it’s no surprise that they’ve bolted one on to the Avalon’s 3.5-liter V-6 for more power (specs not provided). A new suspension lowers ride height by an inch and handling is improved thanks to revised steering, stiffer rear subframe bushings, and 19-inch rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super sport tires. Brakes include cross-drilled rotors and six-piston calipers up front and four-pistons in the rear. Toyota says visual upgrades include a two-tone paint job, tinted taillights with clear lenses, custom exhaust tips and perforated leather with contrast stitching. Finally, TRD improves the sound system with a 15-speaker unit sourced from JBL.
The HV Edition Avalon is based on the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. Like the TRD version, the HV sits one inch closer to the ground and gets the same wheel set up (with a different rim design) and upgraded brake system. The HV will be painted white with blue accents and the color scheme carries on inside. It also gets the 15-speaker JBL sound system as the TRD Avalon.
DUB Magazine Avalon
Toyota has teamed with DUB Magazine for a modified Avalon with an “urban touch.” Much of the sedan has been blacked out, including the 22-inch, rims with a metallic lip. The 3.5-liter V-6 is untouched, but a custom suspension system lowers the DUB Avalon as close to the ground as possible. Inside, most everything is covered in – you guessed it – black. The seat surfaces are covered in black leather and ultra-suede (with diamond pattern), suede is used for the headliner, and the JBL sound system includes three subwoofers in the trunk.
Lexus Project LS F Sport by Five Axis
Five Axis is known for intricate body kits and that’s exactly what’s included in the Lexus Project LS F Sport. There’s a gaping lower bumper up front, large fender vents behind the front wheels, and a trunk-mounted spoiler and lower diffuser out back. The lowered sedan rides on an AirRunner TC-5 Air Suspension system and 22-inch rims wrapped in Yokohama Advan Sport tires. It doesn’t appear Five Axis went under the hood, which means the naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V-8 still produces 386 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque.
